My ongoing show “con.Text”, featuring 18 ink on panel portraits, at the de Saisset Museum in Santa Clara will be having an outdoor reception Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 4-6 p.m.
I am thrilled that two of my pieces from the “con.Text” series will be a part of “The Collective Memory Installation” that will be on view at Grand Park in DTLA, overlooking the Arthur J. Will Memorial Fountain, Saturday, February 25 through Saturday, March 18. The artworks are presented by theme weekly, curated by cultural organizer Anuradha Vikram.

February 19th, known as “The Day of Remembrance”, marks the day FDR signed Executive Order 9066 which put 120,000 people of Japanese ancestry into concentration camps during WWII.

Opens today at the de Saisset Museum on the campus of Santa Clara University:
It is my pleasure to have two pieces included in a show that marks the 50th Anniversary of the Sister-City program between the city of Kashiwa, Japan, and the city of Torrance.To celebrate this milestone Torrance Art Museum is presenting an exhibition of the myriad artistic talents of the Japanese American community based here in southern California. These diaspora artists reflect the complexity and diversity of art practices from those who share a dual legacy, inclusive of the cultures of both countries, to form unique composite expressions of culture.
As featured artist for the up coming @the_billboard_creative show in February titled “We the People” I had the pleasure to do an interview with curator/fabulous photographer @monakuhnstudio going in depth on the inspiration for the series and its meaning to me.
