“Wake”

There are so many wonderful mistakes buried deep within this piece. The basic raw material of the work is initially brought forth in an unclear and muddled form and I work to distill and shape the material to create a context and give the work definition and clarity. There are three complete attempts buried deep within this piece that contribute to the completeness of the process.

What is art without the courage to fail? From the perspective of fear it is stepping without looking, moving without knowing and going places never imagined. It is the ability to fail and get hurt and find all the new possibilities and direction in the process of healing.
